The electric musically inclined power couple pumped pure goodness through their microphones to a flabbergasted crowd on a cloudy, humid night in Mi Yayo at the Sun Life stadium. Infusing life into the audience through 41 hits, which had everyone in the crowd bouncing on their chairs as Jay Z & Beyonce dropped 03′ Bonnie & Clyde for the opening song. The misfit couple gave us a glimpse into their personal life outside of their gangster persona mini movies. “It was all a dream” word to BIG, my friends and I left the concert wishing we could be on the run with them.
Cowgirl Bey wouldn’t be on the run if she weren’t decked out in the top designers customizing costumes suitable for a Queen. From classics such as denim shorts by Diesel, customized leather jackets to thigh-high boots, plunging necklines and a whole lotta mesh. Cat suit’s by Michael Costello, Givenchy and Versace that described her look as “a sexy bandit on the run”. Versace, Diesel, Vrettos Vrettakos, Michel Costello, Alexander Wang, Givenchy and Elle Saab, all seven designers captured the essence of the phenomenal B.
What Tom Ford did for Gucci back in the 90’s, Nicolas Formichetti has now done for Diesel. Clap for him!
Bey rocked stretchy denim fit with frayed edges made exclusively for the Queen by Nicolas who is the artistic director for Diesel, One of my top five favorites on Yonce (I adore all denim everything!). Versace brought the iconic sex appeal & edge mixed with their royal yet vibrant logo print body suit paired with a turban, another flawless look was her mesh black leotard paired with a dope a$$ mesh ski mask and booties, this look reportedly took over 200 hours to complete. Which was her opening look that matched her electric stage presence and took my breath away. The Atelier Versace pieces rocked by Bey set the tone for the show. Her Michael Costello Victorian-inspired black lace bodysuit sucked the life out of my all black everything loving soul, which spoke volumes about her owning who she is and what she does, her body also fit perfectly into a fringed cat suit by Vrettos Vrettakos while she swung her hair and dropped it low for us. It screamed sexy yet dope.
Stylist veteran June Ambrose is on the run with misfit Hova, and I should have known she would be able to bring out that Brooklyn swag in him each and every time. The Don kept it cool in Tom Ford suits; Trapstar fitted London hat, Retro Air Jordan 12’s taxi white/black, BLK DNM tee, tux pants and leather jacket customized by Gardar Eide, Givenchy tee and custom “99 Problems” Rodarte unisex jersey. He accessorized his look with a black skully, black shades, black fedora and black bandana hanging out the left side. What’s a king without his jewels? So, of course he rocked a gold watch and some gold chains around his neck.
The edgy couple On The Run this summer rocked the life right out of both their wardrobes, Kudos to stylist June Ambrose and Tyrone Hunter.
