WK: TALIB KWELI TALKS WITH WORDKRUSH DURING HUNGRY FOR HIP HOP

“What do you believe the state of hip hop is today”?

Talib Kweli: ” where the people are at…conflicted…torn…indifferent…apathetic… But also the voice of the voiceless and the struggle”.

Last week life came full circle at 104.5 The Beat Hungry for Hip Hop Benefit Concert Series. A little over a year ago, o had the opportunity to see Talib Kweli perform at the Bullit bar in Orlando, Florida. It was there that I was able to reminisce about playing my old disc man on the bus rides in the Philadelphia suburbs. Sifting through albums like “EARDRUM”, “Liberation” and “The Beautiful Struggle”, I’ve always respected Kweli not only as a artist but an activist. To finally sit across from him and converse about topics that are important to me was truly an honor and a blessing. Check out the WK conversation with Talib Kweli, and tell us what you think.
